Weekly Recap: Most Downloaded Mobile Games, Top New Games, Guides and more

This article is over 5 years old and may contain outdated information

We’re proud to be part of the Steel Media Alliance – a network of websites delivering the best content in the world of mobile gaming. And starting today, we’ll have a weekly feature for you, one in which we’ll share some of the best stories across the alliance and, of course, from Touch Tap Play as well.

Recommended Videos

We’re just polishing up the details and starting slow, so this week we’re only going to have a bunch of articles to share, but expect things to get much better in the future as we’ll feature more and more websites in the Alliance.

In other words, if you want to make sure that you’re not missing out on any important news or mobile gaming-related articles published across the network in the past few days, this is the feature you want to keep an eye on! Let’s get it started!

In terms of new game releases, we have two main recommendations for you: Rebel Racing – a game that puts the pedal to the metal in terms of quality and replay value; and Sword Art Online: Alicization Rising Steel – a new mobile game focusing on the latest story arc in SAO. As a bonus, if you want some additional tips to do better in the game, we have a beginner’s guide for you as well!

Pocket Gamer also covered the best mobile games launched this week in their article, so make sure to read all the details about some new top games, including the aforementioned Rebel Racing, Epic’s Battle Breakers and more.

If you’re into the more competitive side of gaming, you have to check out BlueMoonGame’s update on the latest Arena of Valor International Championship, which is nearing its end. It was the most exciting AoV Championship ever and we still haven’t seen it all yet!

Battle Breakers Galore!

You’ll have to trust our friends over at Pocket Gamer, as well as ourselves and give Battle Breakers a try if you haven’t done so already. It’s not Fortnite, which is a good thing in my opinion: it’s a great new game that you simply can’t put down!

The virtual world that Epic has created is amazing and complex and we’ve published a ton of guides to help you make the best choices and get the most out of the game. So make sure to check out our own beginner’s guide, as well as a guide to building the perfect team or the best areas to do some farming.

And if that’s not enough for you, we’ve got even more: so make sure you check our entire Battle Breakers tips archive.

Most downloaded mobile games of all times

We shared a line-up of amazing games that launched last week… but probably few of them (if any) will make it to the list of the most downloaded mobile games of all times. These are the absolute best – or at least most popular mobile games ever and I’m sure you’re curious to take a look.

Pocket Gamer has the list ready for you, an eye-catching inforgraphic including amazing titles such as Pokemon Go, Clash of Clans or Plants vs Zombies.

But just one game on the list managed to get more than 1 BILLION downloads, beating the second-placed by a few hundred million. Make sure to check the list to see which game managed to achieve this amazing feat – as well as take a look at all the other top titles there.

We’re not sure how easy it will be next year – and in the years to come – for games to get numbers as impressive as the ones above, simply because the current Phone War between the US and China could have a massive (and negative) impact on the world of mobile gaming as well.

BMG has the scoop on the latest round of this war, so make sure you read all about it! It doesn’t seem to be the last.

Under the radar

There are some games that launched this week and went a bit under the radar, but they deserve at least a chance, in my opinion. One of them is Bleach Mobile 3D – a delight for anime fans which becomes even easier to master if you check out our tips and tricks.

The other – Magic Brick Wars – will be familiar to those who play games like Clash Royale, which is both a good and bad thing. Check out the article and decide for yourself!

And these would be all for today. Make sure to keep an eye on this weekly feature as we’ll add more websites – and even more articles – in future updates.
