Warzone 2 – How To Fix Laggy Servers

Laggy servers are one of the most infuriating issues faced by many live service games. And Warzone 2 is no exception to that. Players often find they are not getting the supposed ping in-game due to laggy servers, which causes stutters, lag, and inconsistency in actions performed. Seeing that, we are here with a handy troubleshooting guide on how to fix laggy servers in Warzone 2.

Most of the time, when you face server lag in Warzone 2, the reason behind it is related to game servers that are under maintenance or about to go under maintenance, the server gets DDoS attacks, you are facing network issues, and other such things.

So before performing troubleshooting, here are some pre-checks that you must do:

  • Check Warzone 2 game server status. You can read this guide to learn how to do that.
  • Check your internet connection.
  • Check the social channels and forums to know if the game servers are suffering any DDoS attacks.

Once these pre-checks are done, here are a few different troubleshooting steps that you can use to fix laggy servers in Warzone 2.

Disable VPN Connection

While with some region-locked games, you can use VPN to reduce high ping and network lag issues, you don’t need it for Warzone 2. On the contrary, connecting to the wrong VPN server can lead to network and server lag, increasing the in-game latency.

Use Wired Connection

If you are using a medium-speed connection over WiFi, we recommend switching to a wired ethernet connection as it reduces network lag and high ping.

Change The DNS Server Address

Changing the DNS server address fixes the laggy server issues in Warzone 2 most of the time.

Here is how you can do that:

  • Go to Network Settings
  • Navigate to Network Properties
  • Select DNS and click on the Edit button
  • Change it from Automatic (DHCP) to Manual
  • Set an IPv4 DNS:
  • Preferred DNS: 8.8.8.8
  • Alternative DNS: 8.8.4.4
  • Save settings

That is it. This should fix the laggy servers issue in Warzone 2.0.
