After the Hopip Community Day, Pokemon Go’s next Community Day classic will occur on March 13, setting its sights on Sandshrew. As it’s clear from the event’s name, Sandshrew will be appearing more frequently in the wild during the Pokemon Go Sandshrew Community Day.

Similar to the previous events, trainers will need a ticket to partake in the Sandshrew Community Day special research tasks. The ticket can be purchased from the Pokemon Go in-game store for US$1.00 once the classic day begins. By the end of this guide, you will learn everything about this event.

Pokemon Go Sandshrew Community Day — Start Date & Time

The Sandshrew Community Day event in Pokemon Go will commence on Sunday, March 13, 2022, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time. Players can enjoy a three-hour lure and grab the event bonuses during this time frame.

Event Bonuses

Trainers can avail of the following in-game bonuses that will be activated during the Sandshrew Community Day event: 

• 1/4 Egg Distance
• Incense activated during the event will last for three hours.
• Lure Modules activated during the event will last for three hours.
• Take a few snapshots during Community Day for a surprise!

Apart from this, there’ll be a special one-time-purchase Community Day Box available for 1,280 PokéCoins, featuring 30 Ultra Balls, three Super Incubators, five Lucky Eggs, 1 Elite Charged TM.

A bundle containing 30 Ultra Balls will be available in the shop at no cost. Be sure to pick it up during the event.

Will Shiny Sandshrew appear during the event?

Yes, Niantic has confirmed that players will also encounter a Shiny Sandshrew during the Sandshrew Community Day.

Normally, the odds behind the appearance of any Shiny Pokemon is approximately 1 in 500. However, during this community day event, Shiny Sandshrew might appear 1 in 25 times as per The Silph Road report.

So Trainers should definitely roam around a couple of hours if they always wanted to include a Shiny variant of Sandshrew to their Pokemon collection.
