Nintendo Switch

The Nintendo Switch console receives system updates every now and then to improve the system’s features and stability. And there are times when these system updates introduce some behind-the-scenes changes that are meant to prepare the system for future updates.

General system stability improvements to enhance the user’s experience.

Known dataminer OatmealDome confirmed that the new update does more than just improve system stability, as certain components of the console’s operating system have been updated.

With a new Nintendo Switch revision rumored to be on the horizon, it is no surprise that skilled dataminers take in-depth looks at each system software update to find new references to the system. This doesn’t seem to have happened with the Nintendo Switch System Update 12.0.1, but more could emerge in the future. Until Nintendo finally announces the new system, poking around the firmware is the only way to learn more about what the Japanese company has in store for the future.
