There are many unique characters in Chrono Cross: The Radical Dreamers Edition, but it is undeniable that Sprigg is among the most unique, if not the most unique of them all. This old lady, who has been living outside reality for a very long time, comes with a unique ability, called Doppelgang, that allows her to turn into different monsters, and use their abilities as if they were her own.
When Sprigg joins, she is able to turn into a decent number of monsters, but the list can be expanded to include every regular enemy in the game, and the secret bosses as well. To do so, however, you will need to perform certain actions in battle.
Here’s how to expand the list of available Dopplegang monsters in Chrono Cross: The Radical Dreamers Edition.
How to Unlock More Dopplegang Monsters in Chrono Cross: The Radical Dreamers Edition
As mentioned above, Sprigg’s Dopplegang ability can be expanded to include all regular enemies in the game and the three secret bosses – Ozzie, Flea, and Slash – but only if she deals the killing blow in her regular form. This can be a little difficult, especially for the secret bosses, as Sprigg isn’t a very good character in her regular form, and dealing the killing blow while she is transformed will not add the monster to the Doppelgang list.
There is, however, a more convenient way to add monsters to the Dopplegang list. To do so, you will have to find the Forget-Me-Not Pot and equip it as an accessory to any character. A character with this item equipped will be able to add any monster to the Dopplegang list by dealing the killing blow as if they were Sprigg. So, equipping this item to strong characters like Serge or Glenn will allow you to expand the monster list much more easily, allowing Sprigg to reach her full potential with considerably fewer troubles.
