Genshin Impact 1.6 update has finally officially introduced the long-rumored costume system in the game. For now, the game offers only two costumes, one for Barbara and one for Jean. However, miHoYo is planning to make costumes for different characters a normal thing.

Once players get a character costume. They have to switch it with the default costume to get it reflected on the given character. And, we are going to do that right now. In this article, we will show you how to change costumes in Genshin Impact.
How to change character costumes in Genshin Impact
In Genshin Impact, players can change character costumes from the character screen.
Open Paimon’s menu and select character tab. Now select the character whose costume you want to change.
At the bottom right corner of the Character Screen, you will find a hanger-like icon, left to level up tab. Click or tap on it.
This will take you to Genshin Impact’s dressing room. Now select the costume you want to change into and select the Switch option.

This will successfully change your character costume in Genshin Impact.
How to get characters costumes in Genshin Impact
As mentioned earlier, at current, we have only two costumes in the game, namely Barbara’s Summertime Sparkle and Jean’s Sea Breeze costume.
To get Barbara’s Summertime Sparkle costume, players have to find and collect twenty-four Echoing Conch Shells. The shell is found all across the Golden Apple Archipelago. Follow the below location guides for the exact location of shells.
- Echoing Conches Shells Location Day 1 [ You will obtain five shells]
- Echoing Conch Shells Location Day 2 [ You will obtain twenty-three shells]
Once you have the 24 echoing conch shells, go to event’s tab and claim the Barbara’s Summertime Sparkle costume.
To unlock Jean’s costume, players have to buy it from the Genshin Impact shop for 1350 Genesis Crystals. It will cost you around 15 USD[may vary]. If you have made your mind to buy Jean’s skin, then we recommend you to get 3 or 4 Blessing of the Welking Moon. This will get you the amount of Genesis Crystals required to buy Jean’s costume. And, a ton on Primogems over the time.
