In Genshin Impact, players can use co-op feature or multiplayer, once they reach Adventure Rank 16 or above. However, in co-op mode, Genshin Impact players can only do domains, bosses, exploring, puzzle-solving, and treasure hunting. Players cannot do any type of quests with their friends.
Also, while treasure hunting only the co-op session owner can grab the loot, and not the other players. Likewise, there are a good number of restrictions placed in Genshin Impact multiplayer.
However, this doesn’t change the fact that exploring the open world of Teyvat, taking on bosses and domains with friends is a fun and rewarding way to spend time in Genshin Impact.

So, now that you know that you can play Genshin Impact multiplayer with friends or random people. Here is how you can do that.
The Co-Op multiplayer feature appears in Genshin Impact once a player reaches AR 16 or above. Open Genshin Impact and click on the co-op icon as shown in the above image.
In Genshin Impact co-op mode menu, players can find similar level players from their region.
Now, if you want to play Genshin Impact multiplayer or co-op with your friends and not some random player, then open Paimon’s menu. and Select the Friends tab located beside party setup.
Using the friend list, players can play Genshin Impact multiplayer with their friends.
