The first Tetris 99 DLC is called the Big Block DLC. For $9.99, players will be able to enjoy two different play modes – CPU Battle, which pits players against 98 other CPU controlled opponents, and Marathon, which is more like a classic Tetris mode where players must clear as many lines as possible.

Additionally, more modes will be coming in the future, and details will be shared as soon as they are available.

To celebrate the release of the first Tetris 99 DLC, the third Maximus Cup will be held. The special event, which will be available from May 17th until May 19th, will allow those scoring the most points to unlock a special Game Boy theme for the game, allowing them to relive the glory days of portable Tetris.

Tetris 99 is now available exclusively for Nintendo Switch. The online mode is available for free as part of the Nintendo Switch Online service.
