During yesterday’s Nintendo Direct, the Japanese company confirmed that 20 SNES games are coming later today to Nintendo Switch as part of the SNES – Nintendo Switch Online service.

Among these 20 games are come all-time classics, like Super Mario World and Super Mario Kart, as well as a couple of surprises that add quite a bit of value to the Switch Online subscription.

As Capcom has been on-board for the NES – Nintendo Switch Online, it’s not surprising to see SNES Capcom games in the launch list. Still, it’s extremely surprising to see Breath of Fire among them: the series has been dormant since the PS2 days, not counting the mobile game Breath of Fire V, and it’s far from being among the most popular Capcom series.

The game is also an excellent role-playing game featuring some interesting gameplay mechanics and a charming world, so those who never played it may have a good reason to subscribe to the Nintendo Switch Online service if they haven’t already.

The SNES – Nintendo Switch Online games are launching later today worldwide. More games are expected to release monthly, so fans of classic games will be in for something good, considering how many great games have been released on the SNES over the years.
