Persona 5 is, sadly, likely never going to be released on Nintendo Switch, but owners of the Nintendo console will soon be able to see the Phantom Thieves in action on their system with Persona 5 Scramble The Phantom Strikers, an action role-playing game in development by Omega Force, the team behind the Warriors series.

The game is releasing next year worldwide on Switch as well as other formats, and Atlus, to get fans more excited for the game, recently shared some new gameplay footage.

The new footage, which can be found below, has been shown during a recent livestream which detailed some of the game’s mechanics, like progression system, special combat skills known as Master Arts and the shopping mechanics, which will allow players to obtain useful items and even get discounts if the right conditions are met, like it usually happens with the main series.

Before the announcement of Persona 5 Scramble The Phantom Strikers, many thought that Persona 5 would be coming to Nintendo Switch following the inclusion of Jokey in Super Smash Bros Ultimate. All the characters included in the popular game appeared in games released on Nintendo consoles, so it wouldn’t have made much sense if he were to be a rep for the Shin Megami Tensei series as a whole, of which Persona is a spin-off.

Persona 5 Scramble The Phantom Strikers launches next year worldwide on Nintendo Switch as well as on PlayStation 4.
