Monster Hunter Rise will mark the series debut for the Palamute, a canine companion that will follow hunters wherever they go and help them take down the many monsters they will have to fight during the course of the adventure.

The Palamute, like the Palico and the main character, can be fully customized at the beginning of the game, as shown by some brand new footage that has been shared online by Capcom via the game’s official Twitter profile. You can find this new footage right below.

In case you haven’t had enough of Monster Hunter Rise and need to check out every little new detail to make the wait more bearable, you can check out some more gameplay footage showcasing the Great Sword weapon and an intense hunt. This weapon type is now a staple of the Monster Hunter series, but the many tweaks included in Rise will make sure wielding these weapons will feel fresh and exciting again.
