The last available skill for Inventors is Arkar’s Coil, which is pretty powerful. It restores 40% HP and SP of a single ally, giving them 1 BP as well and reviving incapacitated allies. However, to unlock it, you will need to jump through several hoops—three, to be exact. You will need to find Scrap Metal, Natural Magnetite, and the Ancient Cog. This guide will show you how to get the Ancient Cog in Octopath Traveler so that you can complete your Inventor skill set with no fuss!

How to Get the Ancient Cog in Octopath Traveler 2

To get the Ancient Cog in Octopath Traveler 2, you will need to go to Roque Island in Harborlands. You will need a ship to get there. If you don’t have one yet, you will need to progress Partitio’s story some more and complete a side quest called The Scent of Commerce in Tropu’hopu.

Once you get to the island, you will need to head down to a small beige house with some exposed brick next to the tavern and talk to an NPC there. The NPC in question is called Agnea, and she’s a factory worker. One of the items in her possession is the Ancient Cog you need if you want to unlock Arkar’s Coil. You can get the cog from Agnea if you use Entreat or the item-stealing skill, but there is one small detail you should pay attention to. Agnea is only available during the night, so don’t panic if you go to Roque Island during the day, and there’s no one in the house. Just set the time to night, and you should be able to find her.

There you have it—Arkar’s Coil is just around the corner now. If you have all the other required items, go back to the guild master and get your skill.
