How to Find Natural Magnetite in Octopath Traveler 2

Inventor is the best secret job in Octopath Traveler 2—at least in my opinion. You get to unlock it rather early on, and those buffs and debuffs that you get with your skills based on new inventions have proven themselves as super useful in my playthrough.

However, if you choose this path, you won’t be able to unlock skills by using your Job Points. Instead, you will need to bring different items to the guildmaster, finish different inventions, and then get related skills. If you’ve acquired all other Inventor skills and eyeing Arkar’s Coil now, you will need to do some extra work and find Natural Magnetite, besides the Ancient Cog and Scrap Metal. How to Find Natural Magnetite in Octopath Traveler 2

To find Natural Magnetite in Octopath Traveler 2, you will need to go to the mine designated as Unfinished Tunnel in Wildlands. This location has a danger level of 34, and the tunnel is connected to Southern Crackridge Wilds. Once you get to this location, you should head north until you see a group of NPCs blocking your way to the Unfinished Tunnel.

To gain access to the Unfinished Tunnel and collect your Natural Magnetite, you will need to knock the Overseer out. He is there to warn you about the dangers in the tunnel, but we don’t care about that—we need to get Natural Magnetite at any cost. One way to do this is to avoid violence and use Castti, who can give the Overseer Slumber Sage that will put him to sleep.

Once you enter the tunnel, you can avoid the boss and further exploration. Just follow the left tracks close to the entrance, go right and down some wooden platforms, pass under the stone bridge to the left, and climb the ladder to a small clearing where a red and gold chest awaits you. In the chest, you will find Natural Magnetite, and you’ll be one step closer to unlocking Arkar’s Coil.
