Dynasty Warriors 9 Empires may be a hack and slash game with strategy game elements on top, but this doesn’t mean that the game does away with the light role-playing game mechanics introduced in previous entries in the series.

During any of the Conquest Mode scenarios, you will have to level up your character so as to make it possible to take on even more powerful enemies. You will also have to equip them with Artifacts and Gems, whose efficacy increases the higher their quality is.

How to Get Epic Artifacts and Gems in Dynasty Warriors 9 Empires

During the course of any Conquest Mode scenario, you will be able to get Artifacts and Gems by simply playing the game, as they are rewards for winning battles, or special gifts handed out by other characters with whom you have high affinity, such as those you have entered a brotherhood with, or your wife. If you are playing at Normal difficulty or below, however, you will notice that none of the Artifacts or Gems you have obtained are of the rarest quality level, Epic.

To get Epic Artifacts and Gems, you need to play Dynasty Warriors 9 Empires at Hard or Chaos difficulties. Given how good these Epic items are, it wouldn’t make much sense to make them available at Normal and below, as these difficulty settings are not particularly challenging. The process for obtaining Artifacts and Gems doesn’t change at Hard or above, so continue playing the game normally, and you will soon have a nice selection of Epic items at your disposal to make the conquest of China a much easier endeavor!
