Being a gacha game, Genshin Impact offers a plethora of playable characters with a wide range of elemental abilities. While most of the players are already well versed with the different gameplay mechanics and systems. There are new joiners in Genshin Impact who are often confused about how they can get playable characters in the game.

The gacha system in Genshin Impact is called Wishes. And, similar to other gacha games, we have a character and weapons banner in Genshin Impact where players can perform wishes to get new weapons and characters. Now, this is the most direct way of getting characters and weapons in Genshin Impact. There are a few other ways of getting characters in Genshin Impact and we are going to list them all out.
Every possible way to get characters in Genshin Impact
Here are the four different ways in which Genshin Impact players can get playable characters in the game.
1.) Progress the game
Progressing through the early Archon quests of Genshin Impact will grant players with a few free playable characters like Lisa, Kaeya, and Amber. When the game launched, players also got characters like Xiangling(reaching Spiral Abyss Floor 3 LVL 3) and Barbara(reaching AR 20) for free.

However, these two were later on removed from the free characters list. But, there is a high chance that these characters will once again return as free characters in the near future.
2.) Paimon’s Bargain
Players can also get playable characters from Paimon’s Bargains shop in Genshin Impact. Every month there are playable characters put into the store. Each of them cost 34 Masterless Starglitter that you get by performing wishes.

In Genshin Impact, Masterless Starglitter is obtained when a player performs a wish in any of the banners and get a 4 star or five-star duplicate weapon or character. The amount obtained differs on a case by case basis.
3.) Events
Players can get free characters in Genshin Impact by completing events like Stand By Me(recent), or past events like the Baptism of Song, etc.
4.) Banners and Wishes
As mentioned earlier, the banners are your best bet in obtaining characters in Genshin Impact. You can use free to play methods like taking part in giveaways, web events, using Genshin Impact redeem codes, saving Primogems from in-game events, quests, daily commission, Spiral Abyss, etc. Or, you can use real money to buy Genesis Crystals and convert them into Primogems, to get characters via banners by performing wishes.
