How to Beat Crucible Knight Duo in Elden Ring – Boss Fight Guide

The Crucible Knight Duo, aka Crucible Knight Ordovis, is an optional boss fight players encounter in Elden Ring at the end of Auriza Hero’s Grave tomb. Players must defeat the Crucible Knight Ordovis and his companion Crucible Knight to not only clear the dungeon but also to obtain the Crucible Knight Armor set and the iconic Ordovis’s Greatsword.

How to Beat Crucible Knight Duo in Elden Ring

You can beat the Crucible Knight Duo easily by using Spirit Ashes Summon, Parry skill, hit and run technique, and other things. 

What makes the Crucible Knight Duo boss fight difficult are the following factors:

• Two Crucible Knights 
• Heavy hitting attacks 
• AoE tail attack 
• AoE ground slam attack 
• Homing mid-air charge attack followed by AoE tail attack

However, the fight becomes much easier or more complex, depending on how you approach the battle. If you try to fight the duo alone with brute force, you will eventually die as they will overwhelm you with the above-listed attacks.

But if you use Spirit Ashes like the Black Knife Tiche or Mimic Tear, you can make the fight a lot easier as your summons will take the boss’s agro while you can inflict damage, run away, and then repeat the process. 

In our playthrough, by the time we found the Crucible Knight Duo boss, we already had Black Knife Tiche at Level 10. And all we did in the battle was performed emotes while the summon defeated the Crucible Knight Duo with ease. 

But, if you want to defeat the duo without using Spirit Ashes, you can do it using a Shield with Parry attack skill. Most of the attacks from the Crucible Knight Duo can be parried to stagger them, and if your CRIT attribute is excellent, you can deal serious damage with each stagger.

At last, you can use the hit-and-run technique, hit the boss with a long-reach weapon, maybe a spear or katana, run away from them, wait for another attack window, sprint to the boss, hit them again, and run back. Repeat the process, and you will defeat the Crucible Knight Duo.

Remember, you can outrun the Crucible Knight Duo attacks by running toward any side.
