A few months ago, data miners pulled out information on eight new playable characters that are supposed to come to Genshin Impact in the near future. As of now, we already have official reveals that suggest the previous leaks on the characters were all correct.

Genshin Impact fans have been longing for a playable character voiced by Rie Takahashi. And they are finally getting one. Hu Tao, an upcoming five-star Pyro user in Genshin Impact, is voiced by none other than the award-winning Japanese voice actor and singer.

Who is Rie Takahashi?

Rie Takahashi is one of the most prominent Japanese voice actors of the current generation, in addition to being a talented singer. Over the course of her career, she has voiced characters in highly popular anime and games, and even provided soundtracks for some of them. Here are a few examples:

Hu Tao is typically described as a “cheeky prankster” by fans of the game. According to the Genshin Impact Wiki, Qiqi says she has a very “punchable face,” while Xiao “enjoys her sense of humor.”

Seeing these personality traits, we think Rie Takahashi is a great choice when it comes to voicing a character like Hu Tao.
