Epic Games has just dropped the trailer for the upcoming Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 8. The new season is aptly titled “Cubed,” and the island is now loaded with glowing purple cubes.
The new update will introduce new characters, stories, enemies, locations, weapons, and much more into the game.
Epic’s website has also posted a story explaining the cubed things in the trailer, which you can watch here:
As you can see, the cubes seem to be everywhere on the island. Hardcore fans will remember that cubes have always been a part of Fortnite. This time, the cubes have taken the center stage.
The Sideways, Turrets, and Weapons
The Sideways is a new element in Fortnite. It’s essentially a “dark, malevolent, monster-filled reality” that players can access via a portal. These places will not have any buildings and will have a low gravity.
New challenges translate into new weapons. Players will be able to get new crafting items from the Sideways and create powerful weapons. Along with the new weapons, the automatic sniper rifle and harpoon gun will make a comeback in season 8.
Interestingly, the new season Cubed will also encourage collaboration between players. Together, players will be able to defend the island better. Players can donate some bars and set up turret stations across the island.
Fortnite Season 8 Battle Pass Rewards
Along with the Story Trailer, Fortnite also launched the video for Battle Pass. The one-minute video shows new characters, weapons, outfits, and more.
The season 8 battle pass has about 100 tiers that players can unlock. As usual, there is a free Battle Pass Track with regular rewards and a Premium Pass that costs 950 V-bucks (around $10). There’s also a 2800 V-buck variant of pass that skips through the first 25 tiers.
The 100th tier reward is the Marvel character Carnage. Along the way, you can unlock Fabio Sparklemane, Torin, Charlotte, Kor, and J.B. Chimpanski.
Other than this, the pass is loaded with styles, weapons, free V-bucks, and much more.
New Characters in Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 8
As the battle pass indicates, season 8 is going to be action-packed. To take part in the action, players can unlock new characters like Carnage, Torin, J.B. Chimpanski, and Fabio Sparklemane.
Torin is a monster hunter, while J.B. Chimpanski is a soldier. Just when you thought that season 8 couldn’t get any more exciting, Fortnite added a unicorn. Yes, Fabio Sparklemane is a unicorn with a colorful mane.
