Animal Crossing: New Horizons’ Spring Update Adding New Visitors and Events

Welcome back islanders! We hope you are enjoying your time with your island getaway package. We have great news – a new update for Animal Crossing: New Horizons is coming your way! Starting April 23, a whole new list of goodies are being added to the game.

First off are new island visitors. Leif, the sloth with a green thumb that originated in Animal Crossing: New Leaf is moving into your island town. Just like his job in New Leaf, Leif’s garden shop features a bunch of different flowers, saplings, and new to New Horizons shrubs! If you are a gardening enthusiast, Leif’s shop has what you need.

Next, the infamous Redd will be sailing into town on his treasure trawler. He will once again be selling artwork and sculptures, but beware – you never know what could be a counterfeit! However, it looks like this time around we will be able to get a closer look at the art, thus making it easier to spot discrepancies.

To go along with the re-addition of art and sculptures, your island museum is now getting a new wing dedicated to artwork! Be sure to get as many authentic paintings and statues to fill out this new wing!

That is it for the new island update. Next are the upcoming events!

  • Nature Day 4/23 – 5/4: Celebrate Earth day in New Horizons! You will be given limited time Nook Miles objectives that involve making your island a little more green.
  • May Day 5/1 – 5/7: Celebrate the coming of May with a limited time “May Day Tour,” where you will need to navigate a perilous maze to win some cool prizes!
  • International Museum Day 5/18 – 5/31: Visit your museum to collect fun stamps for your new museum stamp book!
  • Wedding Season 6/1 – 6/30: It is wedding season, and that means pretty photos! Help take some anniversary photos with some familiar faces!

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is available now for the Nintendo Switch.
