For a very long time, the Final Fantasy series was strictly tied to Nintendo, as the first six entries in the series have been released on Nintendo consoles. Following the seventh entry, however, the series became attached to Sony only to become later on a multiplatform series.
In the past few months, Square Enix has been doing its best to make older entries in the series available on Nintendo Switch. Most of these games are only available digitally, but soon players will be able to get a retail release of two of them.
Today, Square Enix confirmed that Final Fantasy VII And VIII Remastered will be released at retail in Asian territories.
The physical edition of the two games will come with English and Japanese language support, so Western players who wish to own the two games physically can get this release and play it to the fullest even if they do not speak Japanese.
Between the two, Final Fantasy VIII Remastered is the game that has received the highest amount of changes. The game, which has been released last month worldwide, comes with important graphics enhancements, as well as boosters that make the game easier, such as the ability to restore HP on the fly, activate Limit Breaks and so on, as well as others that make battles faster, such as the ability to speed up the game.
For the rest, Final Fantasy VIII Remastered plays like the original 1999 release, so players will be getting the real experience with no major tweak.
Final Fantasy VII And VIII Remastered are now available on Nintendo Switch worldwide.
