Steam Deck is a superior handheld console that was announced in July 2021 and it’s set to dethrone the Nintendo Switch as the leading console-like device for players to play without buying a PlayStation or Xbox console.
As a Linux-based OS with a wide range of supported games, most Steam Deck games uses anti-cheat software and Apex Legends is one of them. While there are still uncertainties on the compatibility of Apex Legends on Steam Deck, a new Twitter video, shared by user Cary Golomb, has demonstrated that the first-person battle royale shooter can now be played on the Steam Deck.
So, Does Apex Legends Run on Steam Deck?
Yes, it does. As the above 15 seconds video shows, Apex Legends is playable on Steam Deck and while the video isn’t long enough to show an extensive gameplay, atleast the compatibility has been confirmed.
A fair amount of evidence in the past has suggested that Apex Legends will indeed be compatible with Steam Deck eventually. Valve revealed Steam Deck support for Epic-owned Easy Anti-Cheat, which is used in titles like Apex Legends, Dead by Daylight, and Fortnite.
None of the aforementioned games have been confirmed to work on Steam Deck either. Also, there isn’t any other anti-cheat games listed on the Great on Deck page, but thus could change since Valve has only just slightly kicked off the verification process.
Steam Deck shipping commenced on 28th February for consumers who pre-ordered and reserved. Fortunately, Valve will be continuously reviewing the Steam Catalog regarding its compatibility. So if you want to check your Steam library’s Steam Deck compatibility, you can visit the Great on Deck page to find out.
