Genshin Impact offers a variety of side activities in the game that comes in the form of puzzles, timed challenges, achievements, etc. Fishing is one of the most recent activities added to the game with version 2.1 “Floating World under the Moonlight,” update. It enables players to catch a variety of fish to get rewards that range from different fishing rods to a free four-star polearm weapon, The Catch, and its refinement materials.

However, once players catch fish from any Fishing Spot, they have to wait before they can catch fish at the same spot.

Fish Respawn Time

Unlike other resources and ingredients in Genshin Impact that usually takes one to two days to respawn — the fish takes three whole days to respawn, which is around 72 hours.

Once players have cleared a fishing spot, they have to wait 72 hours to fish again in the same spot. However, if waiting is not something you can do, you always have the option to go to someone else game world and continue your fishing activity, granted they haven’t cleared the Fishing Spot.

At current, Genshin Impact lacks replayability. There is a lack of replayable content, and because of that, miHoYo usually tries to elongate a simple activity, event, or any other form of content behind a time wall.

And, that is the reason why you have to wait for three whole days for a simple activity.
