There’s a new side quest in the game called “Cold as Ice” which asks the players to visit Hagrid’s hut and help him with a creature problem. The creature in question is Ashwinder. Ashwinder in Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery is a magical serpent that is born from the remains of any magical fire that is allowed to burn unchecked. After they are born, the Ashwinder usually slithers away into a dark corner to lay its eggs, leaving an ashy trail behind. Ashwinders only live for an hour and turn to dust after laying their eggs.
Ashwinders are grey in color with a slender body and glowing red eyes and generally lay their eggs in hard-to-find areas.
