In Tag With Ryan all characters you will encounter (yeah, those that show up in your way while playing) will be bearing a costume for Ryan.

Pirate Hook: Used to attract Pirate Ryan costumes.
Seashell: Used to attract Diver Ryan costumes.
Nunchucks: Used to attract Martial Arts Ryan costumes.
Bolt: Used to attract Robot Ryan costumes.
