The new trailer, which can be watched below, showcases the game’s PvP mechanics as well as the basics of the Puzzle & Dragons experience. The trailer is in English, so everything will be clear without having to deal with online translators and such.

Puzzle & Dragons Gold features a unique spin on the series gameplay formula, featuring a bigger focus on players versus player mechanics.

The basic gameplay mechanics are, however, mostly the same: players will have to line-up three Orbs or more of the same color to attack the opponent during a match. Each monster included in the game comes with unique skills that boost its attack and defense, so assembling the right team will be extremely important to obtain victory. There are a lot of different monsters in the game, so players will be able to assemble teams suited for a variety of playstyles.

Puzzle & Dragons Gold launches on Nintendo Switch in North America and Japan on January 15th.
