Pokemon Masters Guide: How to Get more Gems for Free

Gems are the premium currency in Pokemon Masters. They are extremely useful, because Gems are the only sure-fire way for you to get some Legendary Sync Pairs and access to the premium content in in the game.

At the same time, Gems are normally obtained from making in-game purchases with real life money and the number of Gems you get for free in Pokemon Masters is relatively small.

But today we’re here to share with you all the methods available in the game for you to get more Gems for free and put them to good use to unlock the best Sync Pairs out there and build a perfect team.

1. Launch Day Celebration & Daily Logins

If you’re quick about this and lucky enough to play the game soon after its worldwide launch, you will enjoy the Launch Day Celebration event which rewards you with massive amounts of Gems for simply logging in during this period of time.

If you start playing the game after the launch event is over, you still shouldn’t despair: simply logging in daily will reward you with some free gems every now and then.

So, in order to make out the most out of this feature, make sure to simply log in each day, even if you are not able to actively play. Just get those daily rewards and hoard some free gems in Pokemon Masters!

2. Completing missions

There are two main types of missions: General and Daily. (There’s a third too – Event, but we’ll talk about these below).

The General missions are achievement-type of challenges and you will naturally unlock them as you simply play the game and are active. It doesn’t hurt to check the requirements and focus on getting the ones that reward you with Gems first, but you can’t really hurry them too much.

On the other hand, that daily missions can offer a guaranteed 30 Gems each day. You do have to complete all the daily missions to get the amount, but it’s usually easy and fun requirements, so always start your day by playing these!

3. Link Your Nintendo Account

A very simple way for you to earn a whooping 600 Gems for free is to link your Nintendo account with the game. After doing so, you will receive your reward as an in-game message.

In order to do this, simply go to the game’s menu by tapping the phone in the lower right corner and select “Account”. Follow the steps there to link your Nintendo account and enjoy the ton of free gems!

4. Complete the Main Story & Especially Sync Pair Stories

The Main story will sometimes reward you with Gems – they come in small batches, but quickly add up to allow for a Sync Pair scout. So don’t ignore these missions as they will not only reward you with free premium currency, but also unlock new Trainers and Pokemon for you!

But an even easier way for you to get some extra Gems is by completing all the Sync Pair stories you have available. You only receive 10 gems here, but they’re really easy to get.

These are usually text only, so you only need to tap the screen a few times, select some random answer (or follow the story and select the answers you feel are right) and get some free gems easily.

5. Special Events

Every now and then, Pokemon Masters will feature a special event that will give you the chance to earn some premium currency – one way or another.

You can never know what exactly will happen, and you could have events rewarding you with extra Gems for purchases or completing missions or whatever the developers come up with in terms of challenges, but usually, these events will give you a chance to earn some premium currency.

These are pretty much random and usually only the more active players will manage to get all the benefits, but it doesn’t hurt to keep an eye out for events and do your best to grab as many rewards as you can when they go live.

6. Buy larger Gem packs

I know that buying Gems doesn’t seem to go well hand in hand with the idea of “free Gems” but hear me out!

If you decide to spend some real life money on in-game premium currency, the more money you pay, the better deals you get.

For example, without taking any special offers into consideration, if you get the first Gem purchase option, you receive 100 Gems. If you get the second, you pay 5 times more, but get 20 free gems. For the third, you receive 100 free gems and so on.

You get the point here: the higher the amount you spend at once, the more gems you will get for your money. So if you know you’ll be spending real life money in the game, it is a better idea to make fewer purchases, but get the more expensive packs.
