Minecraft Mob Vote 2021 – Copper Golem Breakdown

Minecraft Live 2021 is almost here, and to celebrate, Mojang is holding another mob contest! Just like last year with the Glow Squid, the Minecraft community gets to choose one of three brand-new mobs to be added to the game. Today, we’ll talk about the Copper Golem, one of the new potential friends in our Minecraft Mob Vote 2021 Copper Golem breakdown!

What is the Copper Golem?

The Copper Golem is a sprightly little robot buddy that loves walking around and pressing buttons. No, seriously, these guys love to press Copper Buttons if they see them. You can leave a Copper Golem in your house and, if you have anything powered by Copper Buttons and Redstone, you might see your base flickering erratically!

Unlike the other two potential mobs, the Copper Golem is not a naturally spawning mob, as it must be crafted by hand. First, you put down a Block of Copper, then you put a Lightning Rod on top. Now, your little copper minion needs a jolt of Redstone energy, so place a Copper Button on the block and press it—voilà, you’ve got yourself a Copper Golem!

Copper Golems’ main function is to run around and push any Copper Buttons they see. They’ll also slowly oxidize over time, just like Blocks of Copper will. When Copper Golems oxidize, they’ll start to slow down, eventually coming to a complete stop once they’ve fully oxidized. Don’t worry though, as you can polish them just like Blocks of Copper and bring them back to life!

The Copper Golem is perhaps the most curious of the three, as it’s always walking looking for something to push. We can see Copper Golems being a part of complicated contraptions in the future due to their button-pushing nature, and we’re sure that the sharpest engineers are going to find a way to include slow, oxidized Golems into their plans. We can only wait and see!

By the way, you might be wondering how to make Copper Buttons. Well, they’re not actually in the game yet—they’ll only be added if the Copper Golem wins the poll.
