Animal Crossing: New Horizons

Animal Crossing: New Horizons may have received its final major update earlier this month, but this doesn’t mean that Nintendo has abandoned its popular game, as new updates have been coming out in the past few days to fix some of the new glitches introduced by the 2.0 update and the Happy Home Paradise DLC.

Among these glitches is a new item duplication glitch that allows players to duplicate pretty much every item by using one of the new features introduced in the Happy Home Paradise DLC.

Does the new 2.03 update fix this glitch? Let’s find out.

Is the Item Duplication Glitch Fixed in Animal Crossing: New Horizons 2.0.3?

Animal Crossing: New Horizons

If you have been using the item duplication glitch introduced by the Happy Home Paradise DLC to make life easier for you in the game, it is time to amend your ways and get ready to play the game properly again, as Nintendo did indeed fix this glitch with the 2.0.3 update. The update also fixes an issue where the same character could appear twice on the island where Paradise Planning is located.

If you want to continue using this glitch, all you need to do is avoid installing the new update by disconnecting your console from the internet or by disabling automatic updates for games. You wouldn’t be missing much in this case, as the 2.0.3 update doesn’t include any new content.

What is the Item Duplication Glitch in Happy Home Paradise?

The Happy Home Paradise new item duplication glitch can be abused with the Room Sketch app that can be installed on the NookPhone. Open the app, place furniture on the wall right where the windows are supposed to be, then enable windows for the room. By doing this, the game thinks you have actually placed the items on the wall, and not just on the app, returning them to you once windows get enabled. Only that those items were never placed to begin with, duplicating them in the process.

Twitter user @Harper6202 shared a good video showcasing the glitch in action. Again, you can continue using it only if you do not update your game to version 2.0.3.
