Forspoken, the long-awaited sci-fi adventure game starring Ella Balinska, has finally launched. Although the game reviews have so far been positive, Square Enix’s new release isn’t without its problems, including its ridiculous system requirements for PC.
The game has had a long marketing cycle ever since it was announced in 2020, and now that it’s finally here, Xbox owners are eager to know which platforms Forspoken supports and how they can get their hands on the game.
So, is Forspoken coming to Xbox? Here is all you need to know.
Is Forspoken Coming to Xbox? Answered
Unfortunately, Xbox users won’t be getting their hands on the new Square Enix title anytime soon, as it’s a PlayStation exclusive. In this case, however, unlike God of War Ragnarök and Ghost of Tsushima, which are also PlayStation-exclusive titles, Forspoken is also available for PC users at launch. Why is it?
Forspoken has a console exclusivity window of two years, which means it will only be available for one console over the first two years of its release. So it’s not all bad news for Xbox users. While they can’t play the game right away, they will get their chance when that exclusivity window ends, in late January 2025.
The news of the game not coming to Xbox at launch was confirmed in a trailer released for the PlayStation 5, stating that Forspoken would not be available for Xbox consoles until 2025.
We’ve also seen several big releases from Sony in the past that eventually made their way to Xbox’s Game Pass, including Marvel’s Avengers, Octopath Traveller and others. That means Forspoken is very likely to arrive at Xbox Game Pass as well, just not as soon as fans might have wished, as Square Enix is yet to confirm the game’s availability on the Microsoft platform.
Forspoken is already looking like a thrilling and exciting new-generation title. Using Faye’s incredibly unique parkour skills that let her feet light up, you get to cast powerful spells, fly, and explore ancient lands. The game is currently available for PlayStation 5 and PC.
