Monster Rancher 1 & 2 DX

The Magic Banana is among the most useful items in both Monster Rancher 1 DX and its sequel. It has different effects though, and they are considerably more useful in the second game.

In Monster Rancher 1 DX, the Magic Banana is required to unlock the Ape breed by giving it to a monster with over 600 Intelligence. To get the item, you need to explore the Hartville ruins on July 2 together with Mr. Karnab and search the pyramid in the northeast corner or the shrine in the northwest corner.

In Monster Rancher 2 DX, the Magic Banana does way more than just unlock a new monster breed as it will essentially exchange the monster’s lifespan for loyalty while always decreasing Stress. Its effects include an additional lifespan week for -10 or -5 Loyalty or +5 or +10 Loyalty in exchange for a lifespan week. Sometimes, the Magic Banana will have no effect. To get the Magic Banana, you will have to win the Parepare Cup on March 1.
