As you continue to explore the island, completing quests along the way, you will notice there are areas you can’t reach. There are passageways covered by seemingly immoveable boulders and items you can’t get to yet as they are covered by rocks. How to Get a Pickaxe in Hello Kitty Island Adventure

No miner would be complete without their trusty pickaxe, and in Hello Kitty Island Adventure you will find that soon you will need one too! The first time you notice you may need this handy bit of equipment is probably when you start helping Keroppi open the Nature Preserve. One Critter List is hidden in a cave behind a large boulder and the only way through is to bash your way in.

To get this useful tool in your inventory you will need to level up your friendship with My Melody who owns the furiture store in the Resort. Once you have hit level 11 it will trigger the Clearing The Oasis quest where she will give you the Pickaxe. If, like me, you are finding it frustratingly slow levelling up your friendships each day, there is a way to speed it up.

Any items that offer two hearts will level up the friendship quicker. This includes any Sweet and Dreamy gifts like the Pink Latte made at Hangyodon’s Ice Cream Parlor made with Candlenut and Strawberry. Delicious!
