How to Craft a Fishing Rod in LEGO Fortnite

In the latest LEGO Fortnite update, we finally have the ability to go fishing! Fishing is a great source of food, in addition to your farms and wild foraging. You can use your caught fish in the Food Processor to make complete meals, or just show off your most prized catches.

Can’t catch fish without a trusty Fishing Rod, of course! Similar to the other tools in LEGO Fortnite, the Fishing Rod comes in four different rarities, and here’s how to make each tier of the Fishing Rod. As soon as you get any of the required materials, the recipe for the corresponding Fishing Rod should show up in your Crafting Bench list.

• Common Fishing Rod: Wooden Rod, Wolf Claw, Cord x 2
• Uncommon Fishing Rod: Knotroot Rod x 2, Cord x 3, Wolf Claw x 3, Silk Thread
• Rare Fishing Rod: Flexwood Rod x 3, Drawstring, Wool Thread x 2, Sand Claw x 3
• Epic Fishing Rod: Frostpine Rod x 4, Drawstring x 2, Heavy Wool Thread x 3, Arctic Claw x 3

Once you have the required materials, hit up your local Crafting Bench and make the Fishing Rod of your choice. The higher rarity Fishing Rods have better durability and can catch rarer fish.

To fish, all you need to do is go to any body of water, whether it’s a river or a lake. Click and hold to pull back your Fishing Rod, and aim by moving your camera. Line up where you want your trajectory to go, then let go to cast your rod.

You can fish at any body of water, but keep an eye out for rippling waves—these signify a school of fish, and if you cast your rod out near them, you’ll get a bite in no time. Not only that, but you’ll often catch rare fish from the rippling waves.
