Trying to survive on an island infested with cannibals is hard enough without having to do it in the dark so Endnight Games has introduced the Nightvision Goggles to Sons of the Forest. No more blindly stumbling through the forests or relying on torches once you manage to obtain this useful bit of kit. Of course, getting your hands on the Nightvision Goggles is not easy so we are here to point you in the right direction.

How to Obtain the Nightvision Goggles in Sons of the Forest

Before you start your journey you should be aware that you will need the Rebreather to complete this quest. If you don’t have the Rebreather yet, it can be found in a cave at this beach location:

Where to Find the Nightvision Goggles

The Nightvision Goggles are hidden in caves near a lake (marked on the map below). Searching caves is pretty treacherous so make sure you are well-equipped with ammo, food, water, medicine, and crafting supplies. As mentioned above, you will also need the Rebreather to help with underwater travel.

Following the steps below will lead you directly to the Nightvision Goggles:

  1. Destroy all boards blocking your way into the cave
  2. Dive into the water (using the Rebreather)
  3. Head right to grab whatever supplies are hidden there
  4. Proceed down the slope to a large room with pictures of figures on the wall
  5. The Nightvision Goggles are on the head of the dead cultist

This supremely useful bit of tech was added in patch 03 in April 2023, along with a new rideable EUC, a trap that can fling enemies away, and new additions to the construction system. There is only one place you can find the Nightvision Goggles and luckily(?!) this deadly cave system is also where you will find the Golden Armor, so you can grab both in one journey.
