Clay is one of the crafting materials in Palia you require for making machines, raw materials, items like Smoke Bombs, and much more. During the early game, you will need a lot of Clay for bug-catching and base building. But since the game doesn’t tell you how you can get Clay, we are here to help you out.
How to Get Clay in Palia
In Palia, you can get Clay by mining the Clay Nodes found all around the shores of Kilima. Some of the best locations for farming Clay in the game are:
- The coast north of Gillyfin Cove
- The Outer Docks
- Remembrance Beach
- The boundaries of the Mayor’s Estate
- Fisherman’s Lagoon
- South of Whispering Banks
Once you get the Pickaxe tool in Palia, you can head to the above locations and start mining the Clay Nodes, a brown amalgamation of stones, to obtain around six Clay from each. Unlike the Palium Ore, you don’t need a high-level Pickaxe tool to mine Clay Nodes.

That said, when it comes to the best Clay farming route, we recommend players start from Gillyfin Cove. There you will find around six Clay Nodes, mine them and then move to The Outer Docks, which hold three Clay Nodes.
Once you are done there, follow this route Remembrance Beach > The boundaries of the Mayor’s Estate > Fisherman’s Lagoon > South of Whispering Banks.
