How to Fish for Mech Parts in Fortnite

fortnite mech part resistance quest feature

Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 2 brings another week of Resistance Quests to complete and find out more about the mysterious Imagined Order. Week 9 has arrived with the latest update, and with it comes the chance to earn 138K XP! After establishing an uplink at either Sleepy Sound or Camp Cuddle, players are asked to find some important mech parts. But where are they? Find out more below.

Luckily the first quest to establish the device uplink and listen to the next orders, positions players near a coast. As long as you steer clear of any enemies, it should be easy enough to find a Fishing Rod or Harpoon Gun in a barrel or chest at the water’s edge near Sleepy Sound or Camp Cuddle.

Three mech parts need to be found and picked up, so you may need to seek out three different fishing spots. Players must fish from the circle of fish-infested waters, and not just plain waters. Aim your rod at the fishing spot and reel in when something tugs your line. Alternatively, just shoot at the spot with a Harpoon Gun.

Along with the usual Floppers, Shield Fish, or weapons you may find, a mech part will float to the surface of the water. Swim over to collect it. Find 3 and complete the quest!

Once you have fished for and collected three mech parts, you will complete the quest and gain another 23K worth of XP. The next Resistance quest will now be unlocked: establish a device link at Command Cavern. If you can find a vehicle and drive straight over to that location, you could complete three of these Resistance Quests in one match!

Good luck!
