How to Find Nergigante in Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin

Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin may play differently from other entries in the series, but this doesn’t mean that monsters that are powerful in the main entries in the series are any less fierce in this JRPG spin-off.

Among the most powerful beasts you will meet on your journey is the Elder Dragon Nergigante. Here’s how to fight it again after defeating it in the story and how to get its eggs.

How to Find Nergigante in Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin

Nergigante is first encountered in the Terga region, and you will have to take the Elder Dragon down eventually to move the story forward. After it is defeated, it is possible to fight it again to farm materials. The Nergigante Sighting subquest will allow you to fight the monster again, but this quest is not available at any given time, you can find it in the Crystal Depths, which is the same area where the story battle against it takes place.

How to Get a Nergigante Egg in Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin

Getting a Nergigante egg is considerably more time-consuming than fighting the Elder Dragon again. There’s a slim chance a Nergigante egg appears in any monster den in the Terga region after defeating it during the main story, but sadly there isn’t a way to increase these chances, as it is impossible to make Nergigante retreat from battle. Chances can be increased by using the Prayer Pot, exploring rare dens, or attempting to get one after completing the story, as chances of powerful monster dens appearing are increased once the final boss has been defeated.
