You will place all the buildings where there is free space without thinking about beauty, and this is completely normal. You can also use decorations to decorate your village, and here’s how to do it:

• Use the Craft building. You can get it like any other building in the game as you level up.
• Next, click on this building and select the Craft button that appears at the bottom of the screen.
• Select the Craft tab in the window that opens.
