How to Breed Villagers in Minecraft Pocket Edition

Minecraft Pocket Edition has all the features you would expect from the Mojang classic, all on your mobile device. It can be accessed on iOS, Android, and other mobile systems in all corresponding stores, and has been in the top app charts pretty much constantly since its launch. The different types of Villager NPCs exist in both Survival and Creative modes, and players can create more by encouraging them to breed. Find out below how to do this.

The best way to get two Villagers to breed is to encourage them to fall in love in a village. The Villagers must be happy and secure in order to want to breed. Make sure the village has a working farm, with plenty of food and crops growing.

Eventually you will notice the Villagers talking to each other and exchanging foods. After a while, they will fall in love and you will see little hearts floating above their heads.

One may fall in love first and pester the other for a short while, but eventually they should both have hearts around them and be falling in love. You can do this as many times as you like, but it does depend on the size of the village. If the Villagers think there is not enough room for another Villager, they won’t breed.

If you don’t have a village nearby, you can create one. Create farmland with a water source, and enclose the area with a wall so the Villagers cannot escape. Plant crops in the farmland—use carrots, potatoes, wheat, etc.—and make sure there are doors close by to trick the Villagers into thinking this is a proper village.
