Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 3’s latest update (v21.10) has introduced a new feature: Social Tags. The rollout is slow, with only a few players getting the option right now, but soon every player will have the opportunity to add tags to their profile. Find out below how they work and how to add Social Tags to a Fortnite profile.
How to Use Social Tags in Fortnite
The v21.10 update has brought some exciting changes including this new way to socialise in Fortnite. Players select up to 3 tags that show other players what their gameplay style is like, what they look for in a competitive match, and what sort of game modes they enjoy.
Epic announced this change in their v21.10 blog post stating:
“Express how you play Fortnite! With the new option to add social tags to your profile, select up to three for other players to see. You can choose tags that express your favourite game modes (2v2, Deathrun, Free For All, etc), your gameplay vibes (Chill, Mic Off, Mic On, etc), and your preferred competitive events (Cosmetic Cup, Hype Cup, Lightning Cup, etc). You’ll also be recommended Fortnite experiences based on your social tags.”
To add the Social Tags to your profile follow these steps:
- Click on your profile icon in the sidebar
- Select Add Tag
- Send and receive party invites to/from people with the same tags in your server region
There will be a new ‘Looking for Party’ section in the sidebar where players will be able to send and receive invites. This feature can be turned on or off at any time. The rollout will be fully implemented as soon as testing is complete.
Check your profile settings now to see if you have the option to add Social Tags to your Fortnite profile so you can squad up with likeminded people. Good luck.
