So, why are we are talking about the different regions in Genshin Impact?. The answer to that question is simple. Each region or Nation in Genshin Impact has its own Element, Archon/God, Ideal, and Governing Body.

Dendro is an element that signifies the Sumeru Nation of Genshin Impact. And, to talk about characters with Dendro elemental abilities we must learn a little about the different regions of the game.

Sumeru is one of the seven big nations in Genshin Impact that is considered as the center of learning. The people of the Sumeru region worship the God of Wisdom, the Dendro Archon. It is an unreleased region of Teyvat that is described as a land with lush greenery, a region that signifies nature.

As said earlier, all the regions in Genshin Impact are inspired by real-world, different countries, and their culture. And, as per current information, the Sumeru region is based on India and the Indian culture. Here is a list of all the regions in Genshin Impact, along with their meaning, element, and real-world counterparts.

  • Mondstadt –> Meaning “Moon City” (German, Anemo)
  • Liyue –> Meaning “Contract” (Chinese Mandarin, Geo)
  • Inazuma –> Meaning “Lightning” (Japanese, Electro)
  • Sumeru –> Meaning “Beautiful Mount Meru” (Indian, Dendro)
  • Fontaine –> Meaning “Fountain” (French, Hydro)
  • Natlan –> Meaning “Nahuatl” (Aztec, Pyro)
  • Snezhaya –> Meaning “Snowy” (Russian, Cryo)

One of the most beloved characters “Lisa” who made many players switch their game audio from English to Japanese, learned magic from the Sumeru Arcademia. Moreover, she was one of the best students that the Academy had in the past 200 years.

All Dendro Characters in Genshin Impact

There are some mentions of characters in Genshin Impact that use the Dendro element. We may see them being added to the game as playable characters in the near future when the Sumeru region is made available. However, as of now, we don’t have an official list of playable characters that use Dendro elemental abilities.

At current we have Baizhu, a dendro element user from Liyue and Cyno whose elemental abilities are not yet revealed. However, she is from the Sumeru region, making her a possible dendro user.

  • Baizhu – Appears in Genshin Impact Chapter 1, Act 2. Also, mentioned in character stories/voice lines.
  • Cyno – Appears in the Genshin Impact manga. Shown in the Teyvat Chapter Storyline Preview (Act III, Sumeru).
  • Collei – Manga only character. Nationality- Sumeru
  • Barnabas – Manga only character. Nationality- Sumeru
