The Flappy Bird creator has been hard at work creating a new game and even though there have been reports about a Flappy Bird 2 game coming, it appears that plans have changed and instead we’ll receive Swing Copters from the creator of the game that turned into a genre. And guess what? Swing Copters is pretty much like Flappy Bird!

In other words, you are controlling a character that has a… copter helmet on their heads and you have to guide them upwards through different openings, while staying away from moving obstacles. In other words, it’s Amazing Brick with moving obstacles, so it has already been done.

And although I do believe that the game will be popular for a while, simply because it’s created by the same guy who created Flappy Bird, I am also sure that this will be a very short lived success and, just like it usually happens, will leave the people disappointed because they were expecting something more and better. That’s what happens when you already set the standards extremely high.

Either way, Swing Copters will launch as a free game next week on the App Store and you can already check out a short gameplay video from Touch Arcade who got the chance to play the title early on:

I am sure that in reality the game is a lot more difficult than it looks and, in the end, it might be pretty fun to play. Time will tell and we’ll see soon!
