Great news, fans of FIFA 14! The iPhone and iPad version of the game coming this fall will be free to play! The announcement was made by Electronic Arts during their Gamescom conference, but it shouldn’t come as a too huge surprise since they already reported record downloads for Plants vs Zombies 2 and most of their flagship titles (The Sims, Real Racing, The Simpsons) are free to play games and actually make them more money than Origin, their digital downloading service.
However, we don’t have now any details about the free to play model in FIFA 14 and we are pretty worried. Usually, free to play means that you will be forced to spend money regularly on boosts and energy and unlocks and so on and so forth, so there are reasons to worry. However, the Plants vs Zombies 2 experience shows us that EA can also make a solid free to play game without necessary forcing us to spend a ton of money on it, so hopefully they will be able to copy that over to FIFA 14.
What do you think though? Do you find the idea of FIFA 14 for iPhone and iPad going free to play interesting or it was better when you paid once and got the full experience?
