There’s no way that you are a BR fanatic and haven’t heard of Farlight already. The upcoming survival shooter promises a ‘beyond battle royale’ experience. With names like Lilith Games (its a first for Miracle Games SG) behind it, the expectations have shot through the roof.

Set in a post-apocalyptic world of 2084, Farlight 84 takes place in Isle City, a wasteland. Survivors from nearby cities compete in a survival game.

Farlight 84 Gameplay: What does it look like?

Farlight 84, just like any other battle royale game, starts with players being tossed into an island. The ‘island’ here is called ‘wasteland’. Instead of a jet or colorful airbus, the players are dropped from yellow flying capsules.

After air-dropping for a while, the parachuting ensues. You land on the wasteland and run around to hunt for weapons. The 40-player battle royale lasts for 4 to 6 minutes. There’s a safe zone that keeps shrinking, there are airdrops, and there are 39 other players to defeat.

Apart from battle royale, the game has a 4v4 ‘HUNT’ mode and a new Deathmatch mode. The gameplay for 4×4 is a bit complicated, so we have added the official video explaining it here.

What’s Different in Farlight 84?

Now, the million-dollar question – what’s so different about Farlight 84? What sets it apart from other BR games? Turns out, there are quite a few things.

First of all, everyone gets a jetpack. With it, you can fly upwards or sideways. Of course, you need to charge the jetpack at an energy station. Then, you are ready for some mid-air battles.

The weapons are not your regular-schmegular guns. Instead, each gun looks like something from the future and has a special ability. The weapons match the dystopian sci-fi vibes that the game is aiming for. Do not expect the typical gunfight in Farlight 84.

Then, there are zomborgs, a hybrid of zombies and cyborgs. Do not underestimate these creatures as they can be quite deadly.

The modes of transportation are unique too. Along with some ultra-modern vehicles, the game features a bizarre-looking ‘Crabby’ that can hop around.

The colorful Capsulers (a.k.a. characters) might get you nostalgic about Fortnite. As of now, there are 14 characters in the game and each one has its unique ability. Two Capsulers were added in the v11.6 update.

Fans and players can expect the official launch of Farlight 84 later this year. As of now, early access is available in some regions. Here’s a link to the Play Store and the APK.
