Borderlands 3 has been released a few days ago on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One and fans of the series have been loving the new additions to the formula. Nintendo Switch owners, on the other hands, cannot play any of the entries in the series, which is a shame, as portable Borderlands with on-the-fly, local co-op would be amazing.
While an announcement has not been made yet, it seems like it is too early to start losing hope.
Borderlands 3 creative director Paul Sage recently talked about the possibility of any entry in the series releasing on the Nintendo Switch. While he didn’t confirm anything, he did say to never say never, so the door is still open to see any, or maybe all three, main entries in the series on Nintendo’s console.
This isn’t the first time that Gearbox spoke about releasing Borderlands on Nintendo Switch. Randy Pitchford reiterated his love for the console multiple times, so chances are actually a bit higher than some might expect to see at least the first two entries in the series on the console, as the team would not have to make any cut to get the games running on Switch, considering they are both last-gen games.
Gearbox has also proven that they can release a good Nintendo Switch port with Bulletstorm: Duke of Switch Edition, which is the only game by the team that is available on the Switch.
Borderlands 3 is now available on PC, PS4 and Xbox One. We will let you know more about a possible Switch release of the Borderlands games as soon as possible, so stay tuned for all the latest news.
