How To Level and Rank Up Your Heroes In State of Survival

State of Survival features a lot of different Heroes all coming with unique capabilities that make them more useful at certain activities than others. All Heroes, however, don’t remain the same as they are when they are acquired, as it is possible to improve their capabilities and unlock more skills. As such, they will become even more useful and make you an even better player.

Improving Heroes in State of Survival is relatively straightforward. All Heroes come with a Level stat that indicates their current level of ability and a rank. Both level and rank determine how good your Hero currently is.

How to Level Up Heroes

Any hero acquired in State of Survival starts from Level 1. At this level, stats are very low and only one skill is available. To increase a Hero’s level, you must assign the Hero to any team used for Explore to gain XP points. A very handy shortcut to increase any Hero’s level quickly is by using Combat Manuals. These items are obtained from completing different activities and participating in special events, but they can be hard to come by, so you’d better save on them on a Hero you really need to level up quickly. Don’t waste them on a random Hero just to try them out, or you will be sorry! All stats are increased upon level up, so the character’s general efficacy increases with each level.

The maximum level any Hero in State of Survival can reach is determined by the current rank. If a Hero is never ranked up, the maximum level that can be achieved is level 10.

How to Rank Up Heroes

Ranking up Heroes in State of Survival is extremely important, otherwise, they won’t be able to level up past level 10, severely impeding their potential. The only way to rank up a hero from the starting Cadet rank is by using Hero Fragments. These items are also used to unlock Heroes in the first place, so you should be familiar with them already from the very beginning of the game. Generic Hero Fragments can also be used to rank up, but as they are limited in number, you should save them as much as possible until you have a good idea on which Heroes to develop and rank up and which ones to leave behind.

  • To rank up any Hero to Second Lieutenant you need to assign a total of 20 Hero Fragments. Heroes in this rank can get up to level 20
  • To rank up any Hero to First Lieutenant you need to assign a total of 35 Hero Fragments. Heroes in this rank can get up to level 30.
  • To rank up any Hero to Captain you need to assign a total of 60 Hero Fragments. Heroes in this rank can get up to level 40.
  • To rank up any Hero to Major you need to assign a total of 100 Hero Fragments. Heroes in this rank can get up to level 50.
  • To rank up any Hero to Lieutenant Colonel you need to assign a total of 250 Hero Fragments. Heroes in this rank can get up to level 60.
  • To rank up any Hero to Colonel you need to assign a total of 600 Hero Fragments. Heroes in this rank can get up to level 70.
  • To rank up any Hero to the final rank of General you need to assign a total of 1200 Hero Fragments. Heroes in this rank can get up to level 80.

Ranking up Heroes also unlocks extra Skills and grants you the chance to upgrade any of the learned skills. To improve the skills, however, you will need to use the Skill Books of the appropriate rank.
