A few months ago, an interesting arcade racing game developed by Attract Mode Games called Tail Drift has been released on the App Store as a premium title. Unfortunately the game has switched to a free to play model due to slow sales.

With the game now being a free to play title, the Tail Drift mechanics have been slightly altered. Players will now require fuel to race, which can be bought or restored by waiting, the interface has been tweaked, the tour system has been changed to offer a more linear experience and some of the tracks have also been rebalanced.

All those who have purchased Tail Drift will receive a huge amount of coins for the free to play version so that wait times and all the other free to play mechanics won’t get in the way too much.

The team has also confirmed that they’re currently working on more Tail Drift content that will be released on a yet to be confirmed date.

Tail Drift is now available as a free to play game on the App Store. Despite the changes, Tail Drift is still a really engaging racing game so make sure to check it out as soon as possible if you’re looking for a nice game to play on the go.
