Golf has been called a good walk spoiled, which is why virtual golf is so much better than the real thing. Why spend hours tramping around a field looking for your ball in the long grass when you can just tap a screen?
Shot Online for PC is the ultimate multiplayer golfing experience, letting players compete simultaneously in a huge variety of different events on a number of real and fictional golf courses.
And now, at long last, it’s coming to mobile in the form of Shot Online Golf: World Championship, a massively multiplayer golfing RPG that you’ll be able to take with you and play anywhere you like on your Android or iOS device.
Shot Online Golf will be packed with content. Highlights include the Academy, where you’ll be able to compete in quests to earn your Pro title while at the same time upgrading your costumes and clubs so that you can make ever more difficult shots.
Then there’s the Betting Challenge, where you’ll be able to play a round against another player in real time and get double your stake if you win.
Various other events see you earning rewards for getting the ball closest to the pin, sinking as many putts as you can, and hitting the longest drive. Daily prizes are available for anything from playing 100 holes to just logging in, and as you play you’ll gain skills and items in a constant flow of RPG-style upgrades.
So where is it? Shot Online Golf isn’t available just yet, but if you’re lucky you can get into the closed beta and play the game ahead of its release. Better still, you’ll be able to earn daily login and holes completed rewards during the beta period, which ends at 20:00 (UTC) on June 28th.
To sign up for the beta, head to the Shot Online Golf website and enter your details. It’s open for both iOS and Android gamers, so there’s no excuse for missing out.
