Will There be a High on Life 2? Sequel News

Although the first game received quite a warming response from players, it's still unknown if there's going to be a sequel, or will there?

High On Life is a unique and thrilling game that takes players through a once-in-a-lifetime adventure where they’ll play as a bounty hunter who must save the earth using their various skills and alien-like weapons against hordes of enemies across different stages.

And as one might expect from a game that’s developed by Rick and Morty co-creators, High on Life has silly, comedic, immature gameplay, adult jokes, swearing, absurd scenarios, and eccentric characters. The game has been quite successful so far but will there be a High on Life 2? Let’s find out!

Will There be a High on Life 2? Sequel News

Justin Roiland and Squanch Games’ FPS game didn’t fail to make the rounds when it launched as it received a fair amount of mixed reviews, many of which were positive. On Steam for instance, the game currently has a 9/10 rating as well as impressive stats on Xbox, making it one of the most popular titles on the Microsoft console and on Game Pass.

The game has a unique and distinct humor that isn’t for everyone, including some adult content that has led to the game getting an ESRB rating of Mature and is intended for players between the age of 17 and above. Devoted fans, however, found the game to be exciting and cannot wait to get their hands on a sequel.

Allow us to say that for now, a sequel to High on Life has not been officially announced or confirmed by either Roiland or Squanch Games. However, there’s a very good chance the game will get a sequel as art director Mikey Spano as well as a scene in the game clearly hints at a potential sequel.

Speaking with RadioTimes at last year’s Gamescom, Spano commented on the possibility of a sequel to High on Life saying, “We have to see what kind of audience we can build. But if people really respond to it, and it sells well enough, I absolutely want to keep building on it.”

And from the number of players the game has amassed so far on both PC (via Steam) and Xbox, it’s safe to say that Spano may have indeed gotten the audience he seeks and a sequel could very well be in the works.

However, while it’s okay to speculate on a potential sequel, remember that nothing has been made official yet and until then, High on Life is exclusively available to play on Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
