Who is the Dark Cultist in Hearthstone

Dark Cultist is a Priest class Minion card that possesses a Deathrattle effect; upon this card being destroyed, it will give a random friendly minion +3 Health. The Dark Cultist is part of the Curse of Naxxramas expansion set.

How to Use the Dark Cultist in Hearthstone

The Dark Cultist is a strong minion on its own, with a respectable 3 Attack, and its 4 Health means it will be able to live after trading with most of the early game cards, thus bypassing the problem that most 3-cost minions have. An additional benefit is that the Cultist’s Deathrattle gives it the potential to grant even more stats to other minions.

While the player is not able to choose which minion is enchanted by the Cultist’s Deathrattle, its sheer randomness can be limited by reducing the amount of friendly minions on the board. For example, playing just one other minion before then sending the Cultist to its death will guarantee the second minion will be the only target of the Cultist’s Deathrattle.

If there are no other friendly minions on the board during the time when the Cultist dies, the Deathrattle will be wasted. Opponents can reduce its impact by destroying other minions first, or strategically deciding which minion will gain the buff.

Destroying a Dark Cultist at the same time as every other minion on the opponent’s side of the board will cause the Deathrattle to be wasted, since it will not trigger until after all of the other minions have been destroyed.
