What is the Reaper Cloth?
The Reaper Cloth is a held item in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. It is one of the few items that certain Pokémon need to hold while being traded if they want to evolve.
In this case, Reaper Cloth is meant to be held by a Dusclops while it is being traded to another player. Dusclops is a Ghost-type Pokémon introduced in Gen 3’s games Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire; it evolves from Duskull and finally turns into Dusknoir when it is traded while holding the Reaper Cloth item.
If the player wishes to acquire Dusknoir, this is the only method to do so. As is the case with most held items, Reaper Cloth is rare and difficult to acquire. There are a couple of ways that the player can do so.
How to get Reaper Cloth
Once the player acquires a Dusclops, they will need the Reaper Cloth and a friend to trade with to get Dusknoir. The Reaper Cloth can be found in two ways:
- Found on Route 229
- Purchase from the Battle Park Exchange Service
The Route 229 method
Players need to head to Route 229 on Battle Island. Upon arriving there, they need to head to the Resort Area. After entering the area, players will notice two Ace Trainers and a small tree nearby that can be cut. If they cut the tree, they will find the Reaper Cloth behind it.
The Battle Park Exchange Service method
This method may be a bit more time-consuming than the previous one. Players will have to accrue Battle Points to purchase items off the Exchange Service. After winning enough battles and collecting 5 Battle Points, players can then exchange those points for a Reaper Cloth.
If the player wants to acquire Dusknoir in the fastest way possible, we recommend heading to Route 229 and getting the Reaper Cloth from there!
